Wind loads are important load criteria in the design of curved spatial structures, in particular for light weight structures such as single-layer lattice domes. Due to the turbulent nature of wind velocity, wind loads acting on these structures are highly fluctuating and may potentially lead to dynamic resonance excitation. In current engineering practices, wind load is usually considered as a static load based on mean wind which is modified by the vibration coefficients to simulate the dynamic effects of wind fluctuation. However, in this paper, the dynamic fluctuating wind velocity time series is first independently simulated by using the AR model method. Then, to investigate the response of a single-layer lattice dome, the simulated wind velocity time series are used to analyse the wind induced vibration effects. Two different input methods of wind velocity time series are considered in the analysis. At the end, the results including the wind vibration coefficients for each case are calculated and discussed.
