Abstrait:

Elastoplastic time history analysis method was applied in this study for the evaluation of the seismic performance of the 632m tall Shanghai tower project under rare earthquake. The analysis parameters, elements used for modelling, elastoplastic material properties, and the analysis methods of the elastoplastic time history analysis were fully addressed. The analysis results obtained from the elastoplastic time history analysis were summarized and compared for all the seven sets of ground motions, and the design criteria checking results were discussed. It is concluded that the elastoplastic time history analysis method is an effective and promising way to evaluate the seismic performance of super tall buildings. The results show that the preset seismic performance objectives of Shanghai Tower can be satisfied.
