Abstrait:

In order to provide some guidance suggestion about the design of smoke ventilation system, numerical simulation has been performed by FDS program to analyze the effect of smoke vent on fire temperature field for spatial structures. Both mechanical and natural smoke ventilation systems have been used in the numerical simulation. And the smoke ventilation systems are simulated respectively when the smoke vents are on the top or the sidewalls. It is shown that different arrangement of smoke vent can result in large differences for the air heating–up process on fire. For mechanical smoke ventilation, when the vents are on the top, the effect of smoke ventilation is better, and the fire temperature can be reduced significantly. While for the natural ventilation, the location change of vents had no significant effect on fire temperature.
