Abstrait:

The Reading Railroad Terminal in Philadelphia, opened in 1893, has been converted into a part of a new convention facility. A significant part of the renovation of any historic structure is determining the existing conditions, and this was certainly the case for the Reading Terminal. The 100 year service life of the Reading Terminal had been harsh, especially where water reached the structure. Repairs were needed to bring the structure up to capacity and provide for the new framing that forms the meeting rooms and the ballroom.
