Abstrait: |
In the past decades much progress has been made in Germany in the field of sustainable bridge design due to limited natural und financial resources. In 2011 a new regulation for the recalculation of highway bridges, the so called “Nachrechnungsrichtlinie”, was enforced, which accurately defines the steps to be achieved and includes sustainable aspects. The basis of the new regulation is a three block strategy. It starts with calculations of the structure taking into account the results of the former bridge investigations and all available data, continues with a feasibility study and ends with a cost-efficiency study. This procedure leads to sustainable bridge design in Germany. |
