Abstrait:

The Skyggelog footbridge is part of the Nygårdstangen Master Plan, a wedge shaped area of about 800 meters length and 100 meters width, negotiating between the two Lungegårdsvannet basins located at the southern perimeter of the historic center of Bergen, Norway.

The master plan will transform the area radically, serving currently as model for climate change adaptation in coastal areas within the EU’s MARE program.

The bridge is an integrated part of the main bike route leading into the city from the south. Also, it connects areas in front of the first two buildings to be erected within the master plan, thus setting the standard in terms of quality and program for the infrastructure of the area as a whole. The bridge will serve as both, viewing platform for sports events and transport corridor.
